New Life Boutique Furniture

Furniture with character.

Furniture with a history.

Furniture given a new life.

At New Life Boutique, I don't believe old furniture needs to be made perfect to be beautiful.

Every piece has its own character and story. Rather than simply covering its past, I look at what makes each piece special - its shape, features, natural wood, marks and imperfections - and work with those things to create something individual.

My aim isn't to make old furniture look new. It's to give it a new life while preserving the character that made it special in the first place.

Not perfect. Not mass-produced. Not made to look like everything else. Just given a new life.

Have a Piece of Furniture with Potential?

Perhaps you have a much-loved piece that no longer fits with your home, mismatched furniture you'd like to bring together, or an old piece that you simply can't bear to throw away.

I can give it a new lease of life while retaining the features and character that make it special.

Every piece is considered individually with colour, finish and distinctive details chosen to complement the furniture and create something unique.

Don't Have a Piece? Let Me Find One.

Perhaps you love the idea of giving a piece of furniture a new life and don't have something suitable of your own.

I can help source a piece for you based on your requirements, preferred style, size and budget, before transforming it into something individual.

I'll discuss your ideas with you first, then search for a suitable piece. Nothing will be purchased without your approval.

Furniture sourcing is available from £50, with the sourcing fee covering the time involved in finding and assessing suitable furniture. If you go ahead with the commission, the sourcing fee can be deducted from the final transformation cost.

Commission Pricing

Every piece of furniture is different, so commissions are individually quoted according to the size, condition, preparation required and the finish we create together.

As a guide, commissions start from:

  • Small bedside table - £125

  • Pair of bedside tables - £225

  • Small side or occasional table - £150

  • Coffee table - £175

  • Bookcase - £225

  • Small chest of drawers - £225

  • Larger chest of drawers - £275

  • Bureau - £300

  • Small cabinet - £200

  • Sideboard - £325

  • Desk - £275

These are starting prices and the final price will be confirmed once I've seen the furniture and discussed your requirements.

More intricate pieces, extensive preparation, repairs or significant changes may incur an additional charge. Any additional work will always be discussed with you before work begins.

Handles and Hardware

Distinctive handles and hardware are an important part of many New Life Boutique pieces.

Where new handles are required, these are charged separately. We'll discuss suitable options with you as part of the design process, so the finished piece feels individual and personal to you.

Securing Your Commission

A 30% deposit is required to secure your commission, with the remaining balance payable upon completion.

Where bespoke handles, hardware or other materials are required, their cost may also need to be paid in advance.

Every commission is unique, so we'll agree the design, price and any additional requirements with you before work begins.

Collection and Delivery

Our current collection and delivery service is available for smaller furniture items within approximately 30 miles of Swadlincote, Derbyshire (DE11).

This includes items such as bedside tables, small tables, bookcases, chest of drawers, bureaus and other similarly sized pieces.

For collection and delivery:

  • Furniture must be accessible at ground-floor level.

  • We are unable to move furniture up and down stairs, as we don't have the additional manpower required to safely lift larger or heavier pieces.

  • Furniture must be of a size that can safely pass through a standard UK doorway and any other access points.

  • Due to the size of our vehicle, we are currently unable to collect or deliver larger items such as wardrobes and other substantial pieces of furniture.

Collection and Return Delivery Charges

Collection and return delivery are charged according to distance:

Up to 10 miles - £30

11-20 miles - £40

21-30 miles - £55

This covers collection of your furniture and its return once the transformation is complete.

Have a larger piece you'd love to see transformed?

If you have a larger piece you'd love to see transformed, please don't automatically rule it out. If you are able to arrange suitable transport, we'd still be happy to discuss the commission with you.

If you're unsure whether your furniture is suitable for our collection and delivery service, please get in touch before making arrangements.

From Forgotten to Individual

Every piece I work on starts with its own history.

These are just some of the furniture transformations I've created - each one approached individually, allowing the original shape, features and character of the furniture to influence its new identity.

Some pieces simply need a new colour. Others need a little more imagination.

The aim is always the same: to see the potential in what is already there and give it another chapter.

Character is Part of the Design

I don't believe every scratch, dent or mark needs to disappear.

Sometimes the little imperfections are what make a piece interesting. Where appropriate, I may leave them visible, gently enhance them through the finish, or allow them to become part of the design.

Furniture, like people, carries the marks of its journey.

I'm not looking for perfect furniture. I'm looking for furniture with a story, character and the potential to become something beautiful again.

If you have a piece you'd like to give a new life I'd love to hear its story.
